It's a way to try out piano lessons before actually committing to piano lessons for a longer term. Maybe you're not sure if your child will like piano lessons or you're not sure if you should buy a piano. The summer piano session is a low cost way to give lessons a try before you make a larger commitment.
The summer piano session is a flat fee of $120 for one student or $140 for two students taking the session together. This includes 6 half hour lessons and all materials needed for those 6 lessons.
Anytime in June, July or August. You arrange the exact times and dates with Erin.
The Summer Piano Session is NOT offered during the school year (September-May).
You will work with Erin to schedule times and dates that work for you. Times will be available mornings, late afternoons and evenings on most Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Generally you should plan to attend 1 lesson each week, but this is flexible so you can schedule lessons around camps, vacations and other summer activities.
Anyone in 1st grade or older that is interested in giving the piano a try before making a longer commitment to lessons or purchasing a piano or keyboard.
Not for the summer piano session. This is the opportunity to try individual piano lessons before you purchase an instrument. If you decide to continue lessons, then a piano or weighted key keyboard will be required before you start lessons. Please note, your child will generally progress faster if they have an instrument available (at home or at a location such as a friend's house or at church) to practice on between lessons.
The session includes 6 half an hour lessons. All lessons are private lessons with the instructor.
Try to schedule a time that does not conflict with other activities, however, if you need to reschedule one lesson, you may do so by giving at least 24 hours notice.
If your child does wish to continue piano lessons, you will need a piano or weighted key keyboard in your home, if you do not already have one. Once you have found a piano or weighted key keyboard, you can continue piano lessons with Erin (if she has space in her schedule) or another piano teacher. The materials your child will use for the piano trial session allow your child to continue where they left off at the end of the piano trial session.
Two students that already know each other, such as friends or siblings, may choose to sign up for the Piano Trial Session together for a total fee of $140. These two students will take the 6, 30 minute lessons together and do all activities together. This generally works best if the two students have a similar level of musical background and a similar level of interest in playing the piano. The two students should be able to work together during the lesson as they will often be playing the piano at the same time. Erin does not create pairs of students that don't already know each other.
If you want Erin to work with your children separately, you will need to sign each child up for 6, 30 minute lessons at the flat fee of $120 per student.
The piano trial session is to give students who have never taken piano lessons a chance to give piano lessons a try. Erin teaches piano lessons too.
